Robert L. Crowe papers 1958-1992.

Papers of Robert Crowe, a children's author from Macomb, Illinois, and recipient of Western Illinois University's Alumni Achievement Award. His book Clyde Monster won the Library of Congress Award for Children's Literature, and his book Tyler Toad and the Thunder won the Children's Choice Award. Crowe also authored several plays and musicals for children and presided over the corporation Creative Ideas, Inc, the parent company for Theatre in the Park at Lincoln Illinois' New Salem Historic Site, and The Consortium Publishing Company. Before retiring, Crowe worked as superintendent of the Jacksonville, Illinois public schools system The collection includes professional correspondence and several manuscripts.
